Lothar Koob has a proven track record of successfully managing global life sciences businesses, and developing and bringing innovative products to market. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the medical device, imaging, and instrumentation industries, and has held executive positions managing R&D, operations, sales, marketing, service, quality, and regulatory functions. Lothar’s active involvement within companies, holding leadership positions in virtually all imaging modalities and related applications, puts him in the unique position to understand market and business dynamics from various functional and technical perspectives. In addition, his experience working in large corporations and small and medium sized companies at different developmental stages lends an exceptional appreciation for the different business facets and situations. Most recently, Lothar has been involved in several early and later stage companies and has served on several boards, holding Chairman and Executive Chairman positions at companies active in various modalities and applications. Lothar has been involved in multiple cross-border acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, and global R&D projects. He holds several Board positions with leading international companies in Europe and the US. During his career, Lothar has served as General Manager (GM) of the worldwide Ultrasound and MRI businesses for Siemens Medical Systems, President of the worldwide Ophthalmic Systems business for Zeiss/Humphrey, and Executive Vice President of Analogic Corporation. Lothar is also an experienced engineer and earned his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Darmstadt in Germany.
